Town
Centre Businesses Quizzed In a Major Survey
Kirkcaldy
Town Centre Management (KTCM) this week revealed plans of a major
survey of opinion of all town centre businesses on a range of
town centre issues. Over 300 questionnaires are being hand delivered
on Thursday (12th April 2007) in what is hoped will reveal a clearer
picture of the issues that matter to businesses.
KTCM
Chairman, Sean Kennedy, stated,
“We
are undertaking the first major survey of town centre businesses
and are interested in learning about the issues that impact on
their operation in Kirkcaldy Town Centre and also their views
about the Town Centre itself. Our hope is to allow the businesses
to shape the future of the town centre while helping themselves.
The results will be used to develop our own business strategy
and lobby various agencies to improve the business environment”.
Sunil Varu, Kirkcaldy Town Centre Manager, added,
As
one of the major stakeholder groups within our community, KTCM
has engaged with a number of business groups - Major Retailers
Forum, Retail Radio Link members, East End Traders’ Association,
Kirkcaldy Pubwatch - as well as individual businessmen and businesswomen
but I believe this is the first time town centre businesses collectively
have been asked their opinion. The results should offer KTCM a
fuller understanding of the challenges facing businesses in what
is becoming an increasingly competitive environment and allow
us to make an even more determined impact in the town centre and
business environment.”
The
results will be discussed at the next KTCM Board meeting at the
end of April and be published thereafter.
