Kirkcaldy Outdoor Fashion Show A Shining Success
Kirkcaldy Town centre Management together with Ann Hardie Designs created a real event space within the lorry park at Kirkcaldy Esplanade to stage a most unusual and highly regarded Fashion show last Sunday 31 st May 2009. The weather stayed bright and sunny over the weekend which made the bridal fashion show at the waterfront a huge success, over 150 people being treated to a fabulous high tempo event with over 30 models displaying a range of wedding gowns, hats, children's outfits, mother of bride outfits and kilts.
The vision of Ann Hardie, bridal fashion designer from Kirkcaldy High Street , the show indicated what can be done with a little bit of imagination and some hard wok to pull off a daring show – outdoors, open-air, at the seaside, in a lorry park in Scotland !
Ann Hardie stated,
“There was obviously some trepidation about the outdoor nature of such an event but I was absolutely delighted that it went well and certainly Jonathan James was impressed with the planning and organisation that went into the event. The event showcased many Kirkcaldy businesses as well as others from Fife while Jonathan's company added a little extra to the event. I want to thank all of the companies and individuals in becoming involved in such a mad-cap idea but also making the event such a success”.
Sunil Varu, Kirkcaldy Town Centre Manager added,
“We backed Ann's idea as the event was so unusual and would help to place Kirkcaldy as a place to stage different types of events. It also helped many town centre businesses with profile awareness and hopefully in developing their business in the town centre. The weather was just about right and the quality of the show was exceptional. It will certainly live long in the memories of those who experienced it”.
