Kirkcaldy Entered for National Dining Promotion
Kirkcaldy Town Centre Management (KTCM) this week revealed that they have entered Kirkcaldy into a national dining promotion simply called “ dine ”. In October this year “ dine ” 2009 will be sweeping across towns and cities throughout the UK and Ireland , with a total of 28 towns and cities participating in the inaugural “dine” national Dining Week promotion designed to encourage people to dine out at restaurants with Special Offers or specially created “signature dishes”.
Kirkcaldy Town Centre Management is leading the campaign locally to promote the restaurant and eating out offer in the Kirkcaldy area. We have invited over 30 local restaurants and hotels within the Kirkcaldy area to take advantage of this superb national campaign which will raise the profile of the Kirkcaldy area and bring additional business benefits to them. It will also give them the opportunity to impress the people of Kirkcaldy with new dishes or even introduce themselves to new customers.
This is a consolidated campaign backed by the UK's Association of Town Centre Management (ATCM) and managed by the Spirit Marketing Group (whose Managing Director is the former Derry City Centre Manager) to drive footfall back into the evening economy. It gives restaurateurs the opportunity to attract new customers through, for example, creating “signature dishes” not normally available or do some “Special Offers” of 2/3 course menus for dinner and/or lunch. Evidence from a pilot campaign in Bedford indicated:
- there were 10 participants in 2007 and 33 in 2008
- the average spend was an incredible £27 per person
- Over 1,500 used the special offers of whom 51% were new customers highlighting the great opportunity this campaign will provide for business development
