Crowds
Entertained on Caribbean Sunday in Kirkcaldy
Kirkcaldy
high street was filled with some exotic sights and sounds and
it certainly entertained the crowds which gathered on a sun drenched
Sunday (29th July2007).
With 2 drumming
bands, a steel band and a Salsa band blasting out their brand
of music, the entertainment was enjoyed by young and old.
Sunil Varu,
Kirkcaldy Town Centre Manager, said,
The event
certainly drew a large crowd who marvelled at the Sakatumbe drumming
group and their dancers, while the Caribbeans Steel Band offered
a medley of some old favourite songs much to the approval of the
watching public. What was also pleasing to see was members of
public joining local Salsa club members in dancing on the street
to the music of La Sonera Calaveras – we finally managed
to get Kirkcaldy people to get their dancing shoes on after all!!
The
next major event in the Kirkcaldy calendar is the Music Festival
scheduled for Sunday 26th August when several venues will be hosting
music bands which will give the town centre a real lift.
