Advice & Guidance for Businesses
“Maintaining Your Competitive Edge”
Kirkcaldy Town Centre Management this week unveiled a Programme of training and guidance for town centre businesses designed to stimulate a focus on becoming more efficient and look to develop their business during these difficult times. Entitled, “Maintaining Your Competitive Edge”, the innovative Programme forms part of KTCM’s Business Efficiency & Development” theme and makes use of key speakers and practitioners from around Scotland to help businesses to think about both their strategic and operational issues.
KTCM is delighted to bring to Kirkcaldy some key speakers to offer glimpses of how businesses can cut operational costs, be more positive and learn about the state of the retail sector. Topics covered will range from the appearance of shopwindows through how to engage with customers and ultimately getting to grips with the state of the retail sector nationally. The speakers come from a diverse range of expertise, from the Scottish Business Crime Centre, the Scottish Retail Consortium and a Main Board Director of the Co-operative.
Kirkcaldy Town Centre Manager, Sunil Varu, commented,
“It is well known that successful businesses are both strategic and operational in their outlook. Our Programme of talks, presentations and workshops offers a new way forward at the time when money is tight and customers are in a constant search for value. With the business ‘top line’ suffering, all businesses are having to look at how to cut operational costs in an effort to become more efficient whilst making their businesses more appealing and attractive to their customers, old and new.
Kickstarting the Programme at the Adam smith College at 5.30pm is the all important topic of crime reduction. The focus will be on reducing crime within businesses while helping themselves and the Police in issuing more Anti Social Behaviour Orders. We have Tom McDugall (Scottish Business Crime Centre) and Julie Cargill (ASBO expert from Fife Council) who will be helping local businesses to focus on these important issues and help their own business practice.
Businesses, in particular retailers, are invited to attend this one-off workshop to learn about these important issues which will ultimately impact on their bottom line. These will take place during the evening which we hope will allow many more people to attend.
All the talks, presentations and workshops are free to businesses and we would ask people to register their interest with my office either by phone (01592 64 00 40) or by email enquiries@kirkcaldytowncentre.co.uk.”
